Mexico arrests beheading suspect, 14

MEXICO, Mexico, Dec. 4 (UPI) -- Mexican authorities say they've arrested a 14-year-old, U.S.-born boy who allegedly claims he is a hit man who beheaded people for a drug cartel.

Edgar Lugo was arrested Thursday night in the state of Morelos as he was waiting to board a flight to Tijuana, the Los Angeles Times reported Saturday.

The youth claims he was kidnapped when he was 11 and forced into violence by the South Pacific Cartel. Authorities alleged the boy, born in San Diego, was on the first leg of a trip back to the United States.

Local media quoted the teenager describing his duties.

"I've killed four people by chopping off their heads," the boy reportedly said. "I just cut off their heads -- I never went and hung the bodies from bridges or anything like that."

Mexican prosecutors were uncertain Friday as to which laws were most applicable to such a young suspect, the Times said.
