Car bombing wounds 1 at Baghdad ministry

BAGHDAD, Dec. 1 (UPI) -- A car bomb wounded a worker at the Iraqi Health Ministry in Baghdad Wednesday, security forces said.

The site in the Al Jihad District in western Baghdad was cordoned off, a police source told the Iraqi TV network Alsumaria.


Meanwhile, in the northern city of Kirkuk, Maj. Hassan Nehme, a district police chief, escaped an assassination attempt.

Security forces arrested two suspects in Kirkuk and seized 22 pounds of explosives, four batteries and two bomb timers.
