PORT MORESBY, Papua New Guinea, Nov. 23 (UPI) -- A 6-magnitude earthquake shook portions of eastern Papua New Guinea Tuesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The earthquake, at a depth of about 45 miles, was about 31 miles west-northwest of Kandrian, and about 267 miles from the nation's capital of Port Moresby, the USGS said.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department said the quake did not pose a tsunami threat, Bernama reported.
