15 dead in Thailand floods

BANGKOK, Oct. 21 (UPI) -- Flooding across much of Thailand this month has claimed at least 15 lives, government officials say.

The report by the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation said the floods had affected more than 814,000 people from Oct. 10-21, Xinhua reported Thursday.

Twenty-one provinces reported flooding.

Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva toured Lop Buri province Thursday morning, visiting with flood victims, the state-run Chinese news agency said.
