Iraq says it broke al-Qaida bomb force

BAGHDAD, Oct. 10 (UPI) -- Iraqi forces have captured six al-Qaida terrorists wanted for bombings, a general said Sunday.

Gen. Qassem Atta, a spokesman for the Baghdad Operations Command, said Iraqi intelligence had hunted down Senan Hmoud al-Jenabi, code-named Abu Suhaib, chief of a unit that booby-trapped cars and delivered them to attackers, and Abdullah Saleh Ahmad Fayyad al-Jenabi, a junior-rank bomber, the Kuwaiti news agency KUNA reported.

Their arrest led to the capture four other operatives and bombers, Atta said.

He said the network was responsible for bombings at the German, Iranian and Egyptian embassies; the al-Arabiya TV channel; the bureau of the National Security Ministry in al-Kathmiya and the Agriculture Bank in al-Iskan district.

The military showed films of alleged ammunition depots at the news conference.
