QUETTA, Pakistan, Oct. 9 (UPI) -- About 30 NATO fuel tankers parked at a restaurant in southwestern Pakistan were set ablaze early Saturday, officials said.

Police said some 20 men staged the attack before sunrise on the convoy destined for Afghanistan, Pakistan's Dawn newspaper reported from Islamabad.

There was no report of injuries near the southwestern town of Sibi, although the entire cargo of fuel was lost.

Anti-U.S. animosity in Pakistan has escalated since Sept. 30, when U.S. Air Force craft operating under NATO orders bombed a border town with Afghanistan that killed three Pakistani soldiers.

The government announced Saturday it was ending its ban on NATO supply runs to Afghanistan, the BBC said.
