Fireworks explosion kills four in Vietnam

HANOI, Vietnam, Oct. 7 (UPI) -- The careless transportation of fireworks caused an explosion that killed four people in Vietnam, an official said.

The explosion of two containers of fireworks at My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi also injured three others, but won't affect work to ensure security at the city's 1,000th anniversary ceremony, Vietnam News Service reported.

Hanoi Police Director Nguyen Duc Nhanh said an investigation into the explosion is under way, but preliminary examination indicates the explosion was caused by carelessness during transportation.
