Teenager charged in rave rape

MAPLE RIDGE, British Columbia, Sept. 29 (UPI) -- A teenager faces pornography charges for allegedly photographing a sexual assault in British Columbia and posting the images on the Internet, police say.

Royal Canadian Mounted Police allege the 16-year-old boy, whose name has not been released, took pictures of a 16-year-old victim who was drugged and sexually assaulted by several people Sept. 10 outside a house party on rural property in Pitt Meadows east of Vancouver, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported Wednesday.

Police said as many as a dozen people watched the attack but only two witnesses have come forward to talk with police.

"We respect the courage that it took for these two young adults to come forward under extreme peer pressure," RCMP Sgt. Peter Thiessen said.

The RCMP made a public appeal to local young people to stop re-posting images of the sexual attack on social networking websites such as Facebook, to protect the victim, the CBC said.
