Possible triple slaying probed in Canada

REGINA, Saskatchewan, Aug. 7 (UPI) -- The deaths of two adults and a child in Regina, Saskatchewan, were being investigated as homicides, police said Saturday.

A property manager discovered the decomposing bodies of the man, woman and child under 10 in a townhouse Friday after neighbors reported smelling an odor coming from the home, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. said. Police wouldn't say how the victims, whose names weren't released, died other than to say it wasn't by gunfire.

"If the theory holds true that we are investigating three homicides in a single place, this would be the worst incident of multiple homicides in Regina in our history," police Chief Troy Hagen said.

Autopsies were to be conducted on the bodies Monday, police said.
