RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, July 27 (UPI) -- Two pilots were injured Tuesday when the Lufthansa cargo plane they were flying crashed in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the German airline said.
Flight LH 8460, with its two-pilot crew, was traveling to Riyadh from Frankfurt, Germany, when it went down at King Khalid International Airport, Lufthansa Cargo said on its Web site.
The company said the plane was carrying 80 tons of cargo, but did not say what the cargo was or which customers were affected.
The pilots were being treated at a Saudi hospital, Lufthansa Cargo said. The type and extent of injuries weren't known.
The cause of the accident was under investigation, the airline said.
CNN reported the plane caught fire but that the blaze was brought under control.
