ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- Suspected Pakistani Taliban militants have blown up a girls school in the North West Frontier Province, officials say.

No one was hurt in the Saturday night explosion at the private school in the Charsaadda district, while police say is part of a campaign by the Taliban to ban female education, the state-run Chinese news agency Xinhua reported.

The news agency said the blast destroyed two rooms and a wall at the school, the fourth such girls' school attacked in the area in recent months.

Officials indicated Saturday's blast, however, was the first time a private institution had been targeted.
