NBA: Chicago 101, Orlando 93

CHICAGO, Jan. 3 (UPI) -- Derrick Rose scored 30 points and John Salmons added 15 Saturday to lead the Chicago Bulls past Orlando 101-93 for a season-high fourth consecutive win.

Luol Deng scored 14 for the Bulls, who sank 24 of their 27 free throws.

Matt Barnes led Orlando with 23 points and Jameer Nelson had 10 points and 10 assists. Vince Carter went down with an apparent ankle injury in the fourth quarter after scoring eight points.

Orlando went on a 10-0 run after Carter hobbled off, then pulled within five with 3:08 to play.

Rose hit a jumper and Deng sank two free throws to extend the Bulls' lead to 94-85 with 2:28 remaining. The Magic cut the lead to 96-93 with 27.2 seconds to play but Rose hit two foul shots and Orlando failed to score the rest of the way.
