Survivors, legislators address gun violence in schools (12 images)

Seven thousand pairs of shoes are placed on the Capitol lawn to memorialize the 7,000 children who have lost their lives to gun violence since the Sandy Hook school shootings. Seven thousand pairs of shoes are placed on the Capitol lawn in a memorial named a "Monument For Our Kids," which included a pair of shoes for each child killed by gun violence in the United States in the past five years.
