SpaceX launches ViaSat communications satellite (9 images)

SpaceX successfully launched the ViaSat-3 Americas broadband satellite for global communications company ViaSat from Kennedy Space Center in Florida on April 30, 2023. Also aboard the payload, launched by SpaceX's Falcon Heavy rocket, were two other satellites.

The two-stage rocket -- loaded with the ViaSat-3, as well as satellites by Astranis and Gravity Space -- was scheduled to launch Friday evening but the mission was aborted with less than a minute left in the countdown due to stormy weather. Photo by Joe Marino/UPI
