Protests against President Donald Trump in New York City (10 images)

Thousands of demonstrators stood outside Trump Tower in New City on Monday, protesting President Donald Trump's response to the white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Va., in which a woman was killed and two state troopers died in a related helicopter crash.

The protest was timed to coincide with Trump's return to his home in Trump Tower, but the presidential motorcade avoided the protest route.

There was a small counter-protest of about two dozen Trump supporters a few blocks away near The Plaza hotel.
