Pro-Palestine protesters hold rally for Mahmoud Khalil (10 images)

Pro-Palestine protesters held a rally in support of activist Mahmoud Khalil in New York City on Monday. Khalil, who led student protests against Israel's war in Gaza at Columbia University, was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement over the weekend. A federal judge has blocked the deportation of Khalil.

A federal judge has blocked the deportation of Khalil. Judge Jesse Furman said Khalil will remain in the United States "to preserve the court's jurisdiction." The judge is considering a petition challenging Khalil's arrest and planned deportation, according to court documents. Photo by John Angelillo/UPI
