First lady Jill Biden and former Secretary of State (and former first lady) Hillary Clinton host an event at the White House for the Praemium Imperiale Laureates on September 12, 2023. The global arts prize is awarded annually by the Japan Art Association for lifetime achievement. The laureates were first celebrated at the White House by Hillary and President Bill Clinton in 1994.
