(UPI) -- A Senate panel authorized funding for intelligence operations Tuesday. Included were measures to prevent intelligence leaks following the uproar caused by whistle-blower Edward Snowden earlier this year.

The Senate Intelligence Committee approved the 2014 Intelligence Authorization Act which authorizes intelligence funding. The funding will be aimed at fighting terror activities around the world and includes covert operations.
