By Mike Heuer

Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Veteran-founded Sport Clips Haircuts has teamed with the Military Spouse Employment Partnership to create career opportunities for military spouses who are hairstylists.

Sport Clips officials say it is the nation's leading hair-care provider for men and boys and has 1,900 locations, which will help ensure stylists who are military spouses can stay employed despite potentially frequent military relocations.

"We understand the unique challenges military spouses face," Sport Clips President and Chief Executive Officer Edward Logan said Tuesday in a news release. "We are the single best place for military spouses to work because of our deep commitment to veterans."

Logan said the goal is to provide stylists in military families with a "stable, enjoyable career path" no matter where their spouses in the military might be stationed.

The Department of Defense created the Military Spouse Employment Program to partner with corporate and non-profit organizations that need people with essential skills to fill open positions.

More than 200,000 spouses of active military members have gained employment through the MSEP in a variety of industry sectors.
