Three killed, three injured in Washington, D.C. shooting

Sept. 5 (UPI) -- Police on Sunday identified three people who were killed in a shooting outside of a Washington, D.C. home.

Metropolitan Police said Donneta Dyson, 31; Keenan Braxton, 24, and Johnny Joyner, 37, were killed in the shooting Saturday night in Northwest D.C.

Three other men sustained injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening in the shooting.

The shooting took place at around 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the neighborhood of Brightwood Park when at least one person exited a dark-colored Honda Accord and opened fire into a crowd.

"It appears that there were individuals who were hanging out in the block. These individuals, for whatever reason, were targeted," Metropolitan Police Department Chief Robert Contee said.

A police report stated that two firearms were found at the scene. One of them was a so-called "ghost gun" an untraceable firearm made up of parts usually purchased online.

Authorities have yet to identify the suspects and are offering a reward of up to $75,500 for information related to the shooting.
