Sept. 10 (UPI) -- Apple unveiled three new iPhones, two with a triple-camera system, along with a new, bigger iPad and the fifth version of its smartwatch Tuesday during an announcement at its headquarters in Cupertino, Calif.

The three smartphones have various price points based on different capabilities and sizes.

The most affordable, the iPhone 11 starting at $699, comes in a slate of new colors including pastel purple, green and yellow, white, black and red. It features a dual-camera system, night mode for photos, an ultra-wide camera setting and a 6.1-inch liquid retina display.

At the higher end are the iPhone Pro, with a 5.8-inch screen, and the iPhone Pro Max, which is the same phone but with a 6.5-inch screen.

Apple CEO Tim Cook said the Pro devices are for users seeking the "most sophisticated technology." The phones come in new colors -- green, space gray, silver and gold -- and feature an OLED display.

They come with a triple-camera system with a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens, a 120-degree field of view and a larger f/2.0 aperture to capture more light in night mode. The front-facing camera is also 12 megapixel and will now be able to shoot slow-motion videos.

All three phones feature Apple's A13 Bionic chip.

The seventh-generation iPad has a 10.2-inch retina display, an increase from its sixth-generation model, which had a 9.7-inch screen. The new tablet's price tag is expected to start at $329.

Less than a year after debuting its fourth Apple Watch, Apple announced the Apple Watch Series 5, which includes a display that will always stay on and not require the user to raise their wrist to activate it. The new version of the smartwatch will be available in titanium and ceramic.

In addition to the hardware announcements, Apple said its new streaming service, Apple TV+, will launch Nov. 1 and will include original series and movies. Jennifer Aniston will star in a series called The Morning Show and Jason Momoa will appear in See.

New Apple devices are expected to begin selling in about a week.

Other announcements Tuesday are expected to include a new sleep-tracking device and an update for the AirPods.

The company held a separate event for its Mac and iPad announcements in 2019, but Tuesday's event could also include the announcement of a new MacBook Pro laptop with a 16-inch screen and Apple Arcade, a subscription gaming service.

Tuesday's event comes nearly three months after the iPhone's designer, Jony Ive, left the company after nearly three decades. He was the chief designer who was responsible for the iPhone's appearance. He departed to start his own firm, LoveFrom.
