Sept. 5 (UPI) -- Dorian's eyewall approached North Carolina's Cape Fear on Thursday evening, as the storm left nearly 250,000 people in the Carolinas without power.
The eyewall, the portion of the storm which contains the strongest winds, was 30 miles south of Cape Fear as of 8 p.m., bringing hurricane conditions along portions of the North Carolina coast, while the South Carolina coast continued to face tropical storm conditions, the National Hurricane Center said.
