Aug. 8 (UPI) -- Southern California police arrested a 33-year-old man who allegedly went on a stabbing spree in Orange County, killing at least four people and wounding two others.
The Garden Grove Police Department said via Twitter it was "working multiple scenes with several homicides. Multiple robberies and stabbings by suspect."
The spree began Wednesday afternoon when the man attempted to rob a bakery in Garden Grove, some 17 miles south of Anaheim, before traveling to an apartment complex where two men were stabbed. One of the men died at the scene while the other victim was pronounced dead at the hospital, authorities said.

The suspect then attempted to rob a check-cashing business and an insurance agency where a woman was stabbed multiple times.
Minutes later, a fourth person was attacked at a Chevron gas station, resulting in his nose being almost completely severed.
The suspect then attempted to rob a 7-Eleven convenience store in Santa Ana where he stabbed a security guard who later died at the hospital.
During the investigation, police discovered that he had also stabbed another person to death in the parking lot of a Santa Ana Subway sandwich store.
At a press conference, Garden Grove Police Department Lt. Carl Whitney Whitney said the suspect was arrested on exiting the 7-Eleven while holding a handgun he took from the convenience store's security guard.
"These are all random acts of violence," he said. "Our suspect was not associated with any of our victims."
Asked what the suspect's motive might be, Whitney said he didn't know.
"It's just pure hate that this guy did this," he said.
