Man accused of killing Utica teen Bianca Devins pleads not guilty

July 30 (UPI) -- The man accused of killing his 17-year-old Utica girlfriend and then posting pictures of her body on social networking sites has pleaded not guilty.

Brandon Clark, 21, clad in an orange jumpsuit, entered his not guilty plea on Monday through his lawyer for the death of his girlfriend and Internet personality, Bianca Devins, before an Oneida County Courtroom that was filled with friends and family of the victim wearing pink and pins emblazoned with her photo and the words "Justice for Bianca."

If found guilty of the second-degree murder charge, Clark faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life.

According to police, the killing of Devins occurred after the two began to argue while returning to Utica from a concert.

Police said Clark stabbed Devins to death on July 14 and posted images of her body on social media. When police arrived at the scene he cut his own throat and attempted to take selfies with Devin's remains.

Police were notified of Devins' death by gamers who saw the posts on the Discord social networking service.

Clark was hospitalized following his arrest but has since been relocated to the Oneida County Correctional Facility.

He is next scheduled to appear in court in September.
