Dec. 21 (UPI) -- Patrick Frazee, fiancé of a woman missing in Colorado since Nov. 22, was taken into custody on Friday, the Teller County Sheriff's Office said.

Although no body has been found, investigators say they do not believe Kelsey Barreth is alive. Frazee was arrested on investigation of a first-degree murder charge, court documents say.

Berreth, 29, was last seen on Woodland Park supermarket security video footage, and was reported missing by her mother, on Dec. 2.

Frazee, who does not live with Berreth, told investigators that he last saw her on Nov. 22, when he left their daughter with her. He added that he received a text message from her on Nov. 25, the same day her employer received a texted request from her for time off from work. It was also the day police made contact with Berreth's cellphone, 800 miles away from her Woodland Park home.

A search of Frazee's 35-acre property, and of Berreth's residence, did not yield any sign of the missing woman.
