Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Authorities are investigating a house fire in northern Ohio they say killed five children, including 1-year-old twins.

The house in Youngstown, about 65 miles southeast of Cleveland, caught fire late Sunday and firefighters said the flames fully engulfed the building.

Officials said two children died in the fire and three others were taken to the hospital, where they died later. Their ages were 9, 3, 2, in addition to the year-old twins. The mother was injured jumping out of a window.

Two firefighters were hurt in the fire.

"It's very hard for us. Firefighters and police officers, all our safety forces," said Youngstown Fire Chief Barry Finley. "Something like this we give 110 percent. Things happen the way they happen and it's just something we have to deal with. We will have someone for our firefighters to talk to."

Arson is not suspected, said Capt. Kurt Wright, but the cause is not yet known.
