Items belonging to Frank Sinatra, wife shown ahead of auction next week

Nov. 30 (UPI) -- Items owned by Frank Sinatra and his wife, to be auctioned off next week, were unveiled this week by Sotheby's auction house.

The auction in New York City, named Lady Blue Eyes: Property of Barbara and Frank Sinatra, features more than 200 items belonging to the Sinatras through their 22-year marriage, collected largely from their homes in Palm Springs, Los Angeles and Malibu.

The items include Barbara Sinatra's 20-carat engagement ring and numerous other items of jewelry; paintings by Pablo Picasso, Childe Hassam and several by the singer himself, and numerous photographs, decorative items and memorabilia of the Sinatra family.

A vast selection of presidential material related to Sinatra, including autographed books and photographs of presidents from Harry Truman to Bill Clinton, is part of the auction.

Auctioneers said a considerable number of items pertaining to the "Rat Pack," Sinatra's Las Vegas entourage of show business personalities, was also displayed this week preparing for sale.

The auction is set for Dec. 6.

Frank and Barbara Sinatra both died in 1998. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Barbara Sinatra Children's Center in Rancho Mirage, Calif.
