Nov. 19 (UPI) -- This could be the coldest Thanksgiving on record for many cities in the Northeast, with Boston, New York and Philadelphia all projecting high temperatures below 30 degrees.

An arctic air mass from Canada will send temperatures plummeting over the holiday weekend but it's all dry -- unlike last week there's no snow in the forecast.

That means no travel disruptions are expected on Wednesday, the busiest traveling day of the year.

The Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade in New York City could have temperatures in the low to mid-20's.

Burlington, Vermont could have a high of 19 degrees, tying a record set in 1938. Low temperatures in the region will 15 to 25 degrees below average for late November.

The Washington D.C./Baltimore area will have have lows in the low to mid-30s but will feel colder with the wind chill. Temperatures could fall to 20 degrees that night outside the metropolitan area.

Black Friday will also be chilly for shoppers camping out for great deals.
