Jan. 18 (UPI) -- President Donald Trump will speak at the H&K Equipment Company in the Pittsburgh area Thursday.

The president is scheduled to give a speech at the Allegheny County heavy equipment plant at 3 p.m.

The Pennsylvania district is home to the next high-profile House election. Although Trump isn't scheduled to campaign for GOP state Rep. Rick Saccone, who is running in the March 13 special election, Saccone will be present in the audience on Thursday.

The 18th district seat is open after former Republican Rep. Tim Murphy's resignation.

Trump, who won the district by almost 20 points during the 2016 election, likely intends to boost Saccone's bid -- hoping to avoid another Democratic upset like in the Alabama Senate race in December.

"The advantage of the president going there is that it's about turnout in a special election. The president out there will certainly help with Republican turnout and it will help with the Trump Democrats who came out to support the president in 2016," Vince Galko, a veteran Republican strategist in Pennsylvania, said.

The president tweeted Thursday he will give his "total support" to Saccone.

"Will be going to Pennsylvania today in order to give my total support to RICK SACCONE, running for Congress in a Special Election (March 13)," Trump tweeted. "Rick is a great guy. We need more Republicans to continue our already successful agenda!"
