By UPI Staff

Jan. 16 (UPI) -- White House press secretary Sarah Sanders was scheduled to give an on-camera press briefing Tuesday afternoon.

She was set to answer questions at 3:30 p.m. EST.

It will be Sanders' first briefing since an Oval Office meeting last week in which members of Congress said President Donald Trump used "hate-filled" language to describe immigration from some countries -- Haiti, El Salvador and African nations.

Trump denied reports that he used the word "shithole" in the meeting with a bipartisan group of lawmakers to describe certain countries.

Sanders likely will face questions about the meeting and what Trump said in Tuesday's briefing. She'll also likely speak about a potential immigration deal, the subject of the meeting.

A deal on a permanent solution for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program -- also known as DACA -- is one of a number of items stalling a long-term spending bill. A short-term funding agreement is set to expire by the end of the week.
