Dec. 11 (UPI) -- Authorities in Sacramento, Calif., arrested a woman recorded threatening to kill everyone on board a Southwest Airlines flight from Portland, Ore.

Flight attendants said Valerie Curbelo tampered with a smoke detector in the plane's bathroom, where they discovered her smoking during a flight Saturday.

"Our crew enforced the regulation and that was followed by the passenger outburst," a statement from Southwest said.

A man who recorded a video of the incident said Curbelo began yelling after attendants ordered her to return to her seat. In the video, she yells that she will kill everyone on board.

The witness said passengers and crew members physically restrained Curbelo for the remaining 30 minutes of the flight. Officers arrested her upon arrival at Sacramento International Airport.

Authorities booked Curbelo on the charge of making threats at Sacramento County Jail.

She told KOVR-TV in Sacramento she tried to smoke because she was anxious.

When asked why she threatened the other passengers on board, she said she didn't know.

"It was not me. It was not me," she said.
