Dec. 6 (UPI) -- The New Jersey Lottery sent out a plea for the owner of a $1 million winning lottery ticket, set to expire in three days, to come forward. The lottery said Tuesday the CASH4LIFE ticket was purchased along the New Jersey Turnpike at the Joyce Kilmer HMS rest stop in Middlesex County around Dec. 8, 2016, and will expire at the end of the lottery business day on Friday if it isn't claimed.

"We encourage all of our New Jersey Lottery players to do a thorough search of their nooks and crannies at home and elsewhere because we want to make a CASH4LIFE player a jackpot winner. It would be a great way to make this holiday season even more festive," Carole Hedinger, New Jersey Lottery executive director, said.
The ticket matched with all five of the white balls, but not the Cash ball, in the drawing last year, yielding a prize of $1 million or $1,000 a week for the remainder of the winner's life.
The winning numbers were 8, 28, 29, 49 and 57.
Lottery officials urged anyone in possession of the winning ticket to sign the back and contact lottery headquarters or visit any New Jersey Lottery retailer to validate the ticket.
"Once validated, the retailer will provide the ticketholder with a validation slip and completed claim form that they can bring to lottery headquarters during business hours, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday or mail," the lottery said.
