Nov. 26 (UPI) -- A Nevada man who survived the Las Vegas shooting was killed in a hit-and-run car accident one month later, according to reports.

Roy McClellan, 52, was walking down a highway near his home in Pahrump, Nev. on Nov. 17 when a driver in a Chevrolet Camaro struck him an reportedly didn't stop.

"I'm angry," Denise McClellan, Roy's wife, told KSNV-TV. "I feel that he was under the influence of something or drunk and didn't want to get caught, so he bailed and left my husband laying there in the street. He doesn't deserve that."

Denise and Roy McClellan were both at the Route 91 music festival in Las Vegas on Oct. 1 when a gunman fired onto the crowd from a room at the Mandalay Bay hotel and killed 59 people in what was the largest mass shooting in recent U.S. history.

Denise McClellan said she when the shooting began, she hid in a metal container as her husband helped people in the crowd.

"He was a survivor of the Route 91 shooting, instead of running away he went back in,' Denise McClellan wrote on Facebook, according to the Washington Post. "He helped transport people to the hospital. Roy also loved helping people and would literally give the shirt off his back."

"Those who knew him know he had his battles but also knew he had a big heart," she wrote.

The driver who struck Roy McClellan has been found and charges are pending. But according to KSNV-TV, Roy McClellan was walking on the highway, which is illegal.

Roy McClellan is the third Las Vegas shooting survivor to die shortly after that incident in recent weeks.
