Nov. 22 (UPI) -- President Donald Trump is spending the Thanksgiving holiday at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, the first time he's been there since April. Trump, first lady Melania Trump and their son Barron arrived at Palm Beach International Airport on Tuesday evening.

The president, who often visited Mar-a-Lago in the early days of his presidency, has not been there since Easter because it was closed for the summer season.
About 100 people lined up to meet the president, and Trump handed out "Make America Great Again" hats to those near the front of the crowd upon his arrival.
"Our president brings more and more each day to us," resident and supporter Gene Huber told the Sun Sentinel. "We are here to show love."
Trump's arrival in South Florida was not as warmly received by protesters who marched in West Palm Beach against his decision to end temporary legal immigration status for about 60,000 Haitians who fled to the United States after a devastating earthquake in 2010.
While at Mar-a-Lago, Florida's A1A highway will be blocked off in front of the president's estate -- which he calls the "Winter White House" -- and sight-seeing planes and flight training is prohibited within 30 miles of the resort.
Trump is expected to stay in Florida until Sunday.
