Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Two men were shot dead early Wednesday on the campus of Louisiana's Grambling State University, authorities said, and the shooter is still at large.
Police said they believe a dorm room altercation led to the shootings.
Killed at the scene were Earl Andrews, 23, a Grambling student, and Monquiarious Caldwell, 23, who was not a student. Each was from Farmerville, La., about 30 miles away, a school official said.
The gunman is still at large, and the Lincoln Parish Sheriff's Office said it has learned a nickname of the main suspect, but that name was not disclosed.
"This is not a random act, nor an act of terrorism," Lincoln Parish Sheriff Mike Stone said. "It appears the victims and the suspect knew each other, and there was obviously bad blood. It's a tragedy."
Students were advised to remain in their dorm rooms, although the campus in Grambling, La., was not placed on lockdown. Officials do not believe the suspect is a student at the school.
Wednesday's is the second shooting incident on the school campus since the start of the fall semester. A student was shot in the arm after an argument in a dorm room last month.
