Oct. 7 (UPI) -- Tesla delayed the reveal of its first all-electric semi tractor-trailer due to production issues with one of its other vehicles. Musk announced the delay Friday afternoon on Twitter, citing production issues with his company's Model 3 vehicles and a need to devote resources for hurricane relief as the causes.

"Tesla Semi unveil now Nov. 16," he wrote. "Diverting resources to fix Model 3 bottlenecks and increase battery production for Puerto Rico and other affected areas."
Musk provided details of the production struggles when a Twitter user asked if those on the Tesla 3 waiting list would receive official notifications or info about their status.
"You'll know as soon as we do. We are deep in production hell," Musk wrote.
Tesla had originally planned to debut the semi truck on Oct. 26, following what Musk described as overwhelmingly positive feedback from trucking companies.
The car company said it would take time to "fine-tune" the Model 3 line for higher volumes, Forbes reported. In the quarter ending Sept. 30, Tesla built 260 of the Model 3 cars -- well below its goal of 1,500.
"There are no fundamental issues with Model 3 production or its supply chain, and we are confident in addressing the manufacturing bottleneck issues in the near-term," Tesla said. "We are simply working through the S-curve of production that we drew out for the world to see at our launch event in July."
