Sept. 21 (UPI) -- U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin is scheduled to hold a briefing with the press Thursday when he'll likely face questions about new sanctions on North Korea.

The briefing comes after President Donald Trump announced he was signing an executive order granting the Treasury Department more authority to enforce sanctions on Pyongyang.

Prior to the briefing, Mnuchin attended a bilateral meeting between Trump and South Korean President Moon Jae-in, in which the two leaders spoke about the North Korea threat.

Mnuchin also attended a working lunch between Trump, Moon and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
