By Ed Adamczyk

July 20 (UPI) -- World Wrestling Entertainment's Shane McMahon was rescued Wednesday after a helicopter he was riding in made an emergency ocean landing near New York City, authorities said.

Neither McMahon, nor the helicopter pilot were injured after the aircraft, equipped with pontoons, landed Wednesday in waters near Long Island's Giglo Beach.

Local marine authorities performed the rescue after a mayday call was heard by a commercial pilot flying to nearby John F. Kennedy International Airport -- who then relayed the call to the Federal Aviation Administration, USA Today reported, citing WABC-TV, New York.

McMahon, 47, appears on WWE television presentations. He is the son of WWE CEO Vince McMahon and Linda McMahon, President Donald Trump's chief of the U.S. Small Business Administration.

"It's very unsettling when all of a sudden you have something happen and you hear a bang and start saying we're going to do an emergency landing in the water," McMahon told news reporters at the scene. "It was very unnerving. [The pilot] was super calm, which made me super calm and we landed perfectly."
