June 22 (UPI) -- Dozens of protesters, many of them physically disabled in wheelchairs, staged a sit-in outside the office of U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell hours after he released the Senate Republican healthcare reform bill.

Video showed Capitol Police officers carrying out protesters as they chanted "no cuts to Medicaid, save our liberty."

The legislation McConnell unveiled Thursday included deep cuts to Medicaid, the government program that provides healthcare to poor or disabled Americans. Millions could lose access to health coverage through Medicaid under the GOP plan to reform the nation's healthcare system.
