Reports: Jared Kushner under FBI scrutiny in Russia investigation

May 25 (UPI) -- Jared Kushner, President Donald Trump's son-in-law and one of his senior advisers, is under scrutiny in the FBI's Russia investigation, NBC News reported Thursday night citing multiple U.S. officials.

The officials told NBC News they are looking into December meetings Kushner held with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak and Moscow banker Sergey Gorkov.

Kushner may have information relevant to the FBI's probe into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, the officials said. That does not mean investigators suspect Kushner of a crime or intend to charge him.

The FBI had no comment on the report, confirmed by CBS News and the Washington Post.

Gorkov is head of VEB Bank, Russia's state-owned development bank that has been under U.S. sanctions since July 2014.

Kushner, 36, is married to Trump's oldest daughter Ivanka. In March, he offered to speak to the Senate Intelligence Committee as part of its investigation into Russia's alleged interference in the U.S. election.

Jamie Gorelick, Kushner's lawyer, said he would share information if contacted.
