PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla., Nov. 2 (UPI) -- Vice President Joe Biden on Wednesday drew laughs from the crowd after he donned his trademark aviator sunglasses while campaigning in Florida for Hillary Clinton.

Biden, who professes to have worn the iconic shades since childhood, joked to the crowd he hoped to be sponsored by RayBan, the company that makes the glasses.

"Oh, sorry," Biden said after the crowd reacted to him putting on the glasses in the middle of his speech, gesturing up to the sun. "I'm doing this because maybe when I need a job RayBan will have me as a sponsor."

"I've been wearing these since I was 15 years old," he said.

Biden's affinity for the glasses has been noted in the past. The first Instagram photo he posted using the @VP account was a close-up of the glasses on a desk in his office. They have made repeat appearances on Biden's social media since then.
