NEW YORK, Oct. 15 (UPI) -- Donald Trump raised $100 million in September for the various fundraising accounts supporting his presidential campaign, according to a statement.

The figure is the candidate's largest to date, but still trailed Hillary Clinton's fundraising total of $154 million in the same 30-day period.

The contributions are a mix of small-dollar donations online and larger fundraising hauls generally shared between Trump and the Republican National Committee. The various entities had $75 million on hand to start October, according to Trump's finance chairman Steve Mnuchin.

The candidate donated $2 million of his own funds to the campaign.

"These numbers show that Donald Trump continues to have incredible broad based support from across America. We want to thank our many volunteers and contributors that are clearly committed to electing Donald J. Trump as President in November," Mnuchin said.

Clinton has more than double the amount of money in the bank than Trump. Her campaign said she has $150 million ready to spend headed into the final five weeks of the race.
