NEW YORK, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- Ivanka Trump, daughter of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, has been assigned a full-time Secret Service security detail, according to the Treasury Department.

The Secret Service does not comment on personal protection details, except to confirm when a dignitary has been assigned one. No reason was given for why Ivanka Trump was given one. It began Monday morning, USA Today reported.

Trump's other children, including his sons Donald Trump Jr., and Eric Trump, who have both maintained high public profiles serving as campaign surrogates, have not been assigned a security detail.

Prior to Ivanka receiving a personal detail, the only time any of Trump's children received Secret Service protection was when they were traveling with the candidate.

The news comes shortly after the Secret Service confirmed Chelsea Clinton, daughter of Hillary Clinton, has also been granted her own security detail. That began earlier this month, according to ABC News.
