Trump tells supporter: 'Get the baby out of here'

ASHBURN, Va., Aug. 3 (UPI) -- Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump told a woman with a crying baby to leave his rally, moments after he told her he loved babies.

The incident occurred Tuesday at a Virginia rally when an attendee with a crying baby could be heard as Trump spoke. First, he said stopped himself to say it was not an issue.

"I love babies. I hear that baby cry, I like it," Trump said. "What a baby. What a beautiful baby. Don't worry, don't worry. The mom's running around, like, don't worry about it, you know. It's young and beautiful and healthy and that's what we want."

A few minutes later, the baby could be heard again. Trump changed his view.

"Actually, I was only kidding, you can get the baby out of here," the GOP nominee said. "That's all right. Don't worry. I, I think she really believed me that I love having a baby crying while I'm speaking. That's OK. People don't understand. That's OK."

Though it was reported the mother and baby were allowed to stay, Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine couldn't resist a shot at Trump over the incident.

"I saw that Donald Trump kicked a crying baby out of an event earlier today," Kaine told a crowd. "So as I'm thinking about pre-K, sometimes you wonder who the baby is, right? You wonder who the baby is."
