NEW HAVEN, Conn., July 14 (UPI) -- Police arrested Justin Goldstein, meteorologist at WTNH-TV, New Haven, Conn., on child pornography possession charges.

Goldstein, 33, was taken into custody at the television station Tuesday, and charged with one count of promoting a minor in an obscene performance and first-degree possession of child pornography, Connecticut State Police said Wednesday. His arrest warrant said computer and other equipment, on which the pornography was found, were seized Wednesday from his Hamden home. The pornography was allegedly downloaded to an Internet account registered in his name.

The FBI, Homeland Security Investigations and the Hamden Police Department executed the warrant.

Investigators had tracked Goldstein since June, when they learned videos depicting child pornography were downloaded to an account registered to him, the Hartford Courant reported.

Goldstein was released after posting a $200,000 bond, and is scheduled to appear in court on July 26.

"We are deeply concerned by the allegations. Until the matter is resolved, Justin Goldstein is suspended from his duties at WTNH," Mark Higgins, general manager of WTNH-TV, said in a statement Wednesday.

All references to Goldstein were removed from the television station's website by Wednesday; he had been employed at the station since 2013.
