WASHINGTON, April 13 (UPI) -- Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus said Donald Trump should "give us all a break" over complaints that the nomination process is working against the front-runner.

At a rally Tuesday in New York, Trump said the nomination process by both the Republicans and Democrats was rigged against him and Democratic candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders -- whom he considers a fellow outsider of the perceived establishment.

During a CNN town hall on Tuesday night, Trump once again criticized the RNC's nomination process.

"I know the rules very well, but I know it's stacked against me by the establishment," Trump said.

Priebus later tweeted that Trump's complaints are based on ignorance about the party's nomination procedure.

"Nomination process known for a year + beyond. It's the responsibility of the campaigns to understand it. Complaints now? Give us all a break," Priebus tweeted.

Trump's criticism follows a weekend that saw Texas Sen. Ted Cruz sweep all of Colorado's 34 delegates without any votes being cast by citizens.

"The party is playing dirty. We've got to show the Republican Party that you've been disenfranchised," Trump later said. "You gotta show the Republican Party you can't get away with this any longer."
