WASHINGTON, Feb. 26 (UPI) -- Sen. Bernie Sanders may be able to take credit for some happy couples thanks to, the dating website for Sanders supporters.

The site was started earlier this month as a joke by Colten Caudle, a political science major at Arizona State University, but Fox32 reported Friday that the site boasted about 7,000 active members.

"I didn't expect it to kinda go viral like this," Caudle said.

TechInsider reported the site has already crashed several times due to overwhelming traffic.

The site's rules urge Bernie Singles to ask themselves "what would Bernie do?"

"This entails no harassing people over gender or sexual preference, race, or appearance," the rules continue. "Support each other, we're all Bernie lovers."

Caudle is not the only one trying to spread the love for Sanders. Weeks ago, the dating app Tinder banned two women for using the app to campaign on Sanders' behalf.

In addition to having a dating website named for him, Sanders has his own action figure, a Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream flavor and smoking pipes emblazoned with his campaign logo.
