NEW YORK, Dec. 14 (UPI) -- Just in time for the holidays, Donald Trump's famous "Make America Great Again" hats are being sent to GOP candidates, with some additional phrases such as "ban all Muslims" or "no Muslim presidents."
Correct The Record, a super PAC backing Hillary Clinton for president, sent out the hats to a handful of Clinton's opponents just ahead of Tuesday's televised GOP presidential debate on CNN. The PAC dubs the hats "the must-have fashion accessory for the GOP," and personalized a hat for each candidate using their "discriminatory proposals."
Trump's hat reads "MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN BAN ALL MUSLIMS." While the "Make America Great Again" slogan belongs only to Trump's campaign, the stunt aims to show that his rivals similarly embrace the real estate mogul's anti-Muslim rhetoric.
Ted Cruz, who is gaining on Trump in the latest polls, will receive a hat that says "MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN RELIGIOUS TESTS." It refers to Cruz's calls to test Syrian refugees before they are resettled in the United States, with the goal of admitting only Christian refugees. CNN reported Cruz asserted that Muslim refugees should be resettled in Muslim countries.
What to get New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie for Christmas? Correct The Record sent him a hat that reads "MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN NO ORPHAN REFUGEES," referring to Christie's remarks to conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt that the U.S. should not accept any Syrian refugees, even those orphaned and under 5 years old.
Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson are also set to receive their very own personalized hats, according to Correct The Record.
