NEW YORK, Oct. 1 (UPI) -- New York City investigators said a woman suspected of throwing her newborn child -- umbilical cord still attached -- out a seven-story window also had a child who died in 2008, a case that has now come under review.
The Westchester County district attorney's office said police have re-opened the investigation into the death of Berry's child seven years ago.
The boy, just over 2 weeks old, was brought to the hospital at least one time prior to being found dead in a basement. An autopsy indicated the child died from sudden infant death syndrome. No additional details about the investigation were revealed.
Yonkers Police Department Det. Lt. Patrick McCormack told The New York Times his department was aware of the 2008 incident and that it was working with the New York Police Department but he refused to comment further.

Berry was charged Tuesday with second-degree murder and manslaughter after allegedly throwing her baby outside a window on Monday. The death of the child was ruled by the city medical examiner as homicide caused by multiple blunt-force injuries.
Berry worked for the New York City Administration for Children's Service form July 2007 to January 2008, in its child protective service branch. She then worked in a closely supervised setting that limited her interaction with families. She left the agency weeks prior to the birth of her child on Monday.
Berry allegedly told some of her relatives, friends and boyfriend -- identified as Giovanni Johnson -- she had miscarried the baby born Monday.
Berry was jailed until her next court appearance Monday.
