Jared Fogle's wife, Katie, files for divorce

INDIANAPOLIS, Aug. 20 (UPI) -- Jared Fogle's wife, Katie Fogle, filed for divorce Wednesday, citing an irretrievable breakdown of the marriage.

The 37-year-old former Subway spokesman and his wife married in August 2010, and share a son and daughter, born in 2011 and 2013, respectively. Katie Fogle requested the court decide custody, child support and education expenses.

Katie Fogle filed to end their marriage the same day Fogle agreed to plead guilty to charges of child pornography and sex with minors. The disgraced spokesman admitted to obtaining pornography of 12 children, some as young as 6, and to having sex with at least two minors.

"Obviously, I am extremely shocked and disappointed by the recent developments involving Jared," Katie Fogle said in a statement Wednesday. "I am in the process of seeking a dissolution of the marriage. My focus is exclusively on the well-being of my children."

Fogle faces between five and 12 1/2 years in prison, and will pay a total of $1.4 million in restitution to the 14 victims. Subway declared the company "no longer [has] a relationship with Jared" in the wake of the scandal.
